Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (at room temperature)

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.


  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, cream the butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.


  3. Incorporate dry ingredients: In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.


  4. Add chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.


  5. Form the cookies: Using a cookie scoop or a large spoon, drop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.


  6. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.


  7. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
